OSHA Outreach Training Program
|
Overview of Outreach Training Program
The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) developed their Outreach Training Program as a primary way to help workers receive consistent training in the basics of occupational safety and health. There are OSHA 10 and 30 hour outreach courses available in general industry topics, as well as OSHA 10 and 30 hour outreach courses in construction topics.
Over the past three years, more than 1.9 million students have received training through this program. The OSHA Outreach Training Program is voluntary, meaning OSHA does not require anyone to take these courses. However there are several States that recently passed laws (such as NY, MA, CT, NH, CT & MO), as well as many Contractors, who make taking an OSHA Outreach course a prerequisite to working at their site.
Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainers
Certain trainers have been authorized by OSHA to teach the 10-hour and 30-hour courses in construction or general industry safety. These authorized trainers can issue the official OSHA course completion cards for their students.
OSHA-Accepted Online Outreach Training Courses
There are OSHA-accepted online versions of the OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour outreach courses in both construction and general industry topics. Individuals register to take their own online course, and are allotted up to six (6) full months to complete their online OSHA class.
Upon successful completion of their online course, a certificate of training can be downloaded by the student, and the official OSHA wallet card will be sent to the student in the mail after it has been processed. |
